I tried the Updater Advisory Program on my laptop and told it that I would like to have Windows Aero and the photo and video capabilities. It scanned my computer, told me everything was fine except: If I want ot run those two things, I need a better graphics card... I have a Radeon Xpress 200M... Isnt that card capable of 128mb (64mb dedicated, 64mb shared)? Shouldnt it be fine? The ADvisory program told me I only have 64 mb dedicated, but 128mb of memory would be needed.
I'm slightly familiar with graphics cards, but not a wiz.... Ayn help from more knowledgable people would be appreciated. Thanks.

Vista Beta Updater Advisory Program
The amount of memory on the card isn't all that matters. The card has to support WDDM and have some minimal amount of memory. Don't know if it has to be dedicated memory or shared. Someone else here probably does.

What is the question? Don't you believe what the Advisory Program told you?

Everything is supported by my card (according to the advisory program)... The only thing it told me would not work is the memory on the card, which it said is only 64mb dedicated.... It doesnt mention that it can get another 64mb from the RAM as shared video memory. Does the advisory program REALIZE that I have 64mb shared?

I'm not quite sure i'd believe what the upgrade advisor said. I installed Vista on my mother's pc which is running a Geforce 6150 integrated video solution with 64MB dedicated and 64 MB shared and it runs glass just fine. Granted your actual mileage may vary some from my experience. "thunderstruck_302@hotmail.com" wrote in message
